POLICYHOLDER NOTICE RELATING TO CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
(COVID-19)

Dear Policyholder(s):
Those of us here at Callicoon Co-operative Insurance Company share the nation-wide concern over the Coronavirus pandemic. We hope that you, our valued customer, avoid the virus and remain healthy. We understand that many have been or will be impacted financially on account of health issues, lay-offs or having to close down a business entirely. We are sensitive to these issues and we want to help you retain your valuable insurance protection.

Effective immediately, we are instituting the following accommodations:

PAY BY CREDIT CARD
Callicoon Co-operative welcomes payments by most major Credit Cards and ACH. Credit card payments will give you the flexibility to pay your bill over time. Visit our website at www.callicooncoop.com to make a payment – have your policy number handy. There is generally no charge to you for making credit card payments.

MAKE A PARTIAL PAYMENT
If you are unable to pay the entire amount due, consider making a partial payment. We will accept partial payments and apply them to your account.

EXTENDED GRACE PERIOD
Callicoon Co-operative values your business and knows that your insurance is important to you. If you are having financial difficulty at this time – we want to help. Although we are encouraging all insureds to keep their insurance payments up to date, for the time being we are extending the grace period for payment to 5 weeks from the due date on your bill. However, if a NOTICE OF CANCELLATION is issued by us, the terms of the notice will always apply unless you request and are granted a Financial Hardship Accommodation (See below).

DO YOU HAVE A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP DUE TO COVID-19?
If you cannot pay your insurance premium bill on account of a financial hardship brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, temporary Emergency Regulations adopted by New York State prohibit the cancellation of your insurance for a period of 60 days from the due date on your bill.
In order to qualify for this accommodation, you MUST provide a written statement ( “Attestation Form” ) PRIOR to any cancellation date. The statement or “attestation” must include the following:

  1. The name, address and policy number of the policy holder.
  2. The due date and amount of the bill that you are requesting to be suspended.
  3. The COVID-19 related reason that you are claiming is causing the financial hardship.
(Examples of qualifying COVID-19 related reasons include, but are not limited to, Loss of Earnings, Loss of Employment, Shut Down of a Business, Health Condition due to COVID-19)

A sample “Attestation Form” is available by contacting our Home Office at (845) 482-5522 or at our temporary toll-free line at (855) 587-5888 or download the form here https://callicooncoop.com/covid-affidavit.pdf.

If you qualify for the suspension of a Cancellation of your policy, you are entitled to pay the subject premium over a 12-month period. Instructions on making said payments will be provided upon approval of your request for the suspension.

If your policy is being “Non-Renewed” or “Conditionally Renewed” and you believe the action is because of financial hardship brought on because of the COVID-19 pandemic, contact us by telephone at (845) 482-5522 or our temporary toll-free line at (855) 587-5888. You must make the request PRIOR to the deadline date listed on the Non-Renewal or Conditional Renewal.

Pursuant to the Emergency Regulation, these accommodations are in place until April 28th, 2020 unless further extended by Executive Order or Regulation.

PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME OF THE ABOVE ACCOMMODATIONS ARE TEMPORARY
ON ACCOUNT OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC AND MAY BE CHANGED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE.

WATCH OUT FOR SCAMS
It is difficult times such as these when society’s worst players prey on the public. Please be on the lookout for scammers. Do not pay any money to anyone claiming to be associated with Callicoon Co-operative unless you have positively identified the person you are speaking to.
